Our Story
You may be shocked to learn that the good intentions of people volunteering overseas in orphanages could be causing more harm than good to the children living there. Many orphanages located in the developing world are exploiting the efforts of volunteers by using their money for profit, rather than for the orphans. Little do most volunteers know that three out of every four children in Cambodia’s orphanages have living parents back home. We, Escape the Box, are here to help raise awareness and try to put a stop to the rapidly growing, money making businesses that many orphanages have become.
